What's in My Cart

What’s in My Cart for April 2025

One of the best parts of freelancing? You get to create a workspace that works for you. No more cold, stiff office cubicles, just your own little setup, designed for comfort, focus, and maybe a touch of personality.

I’m kicking off a new series on the blog called What’s in My Cart. It’s a monthly roundup of simple, affordable tools I use in my freelance life—no hype, no random buys, just real things I’ve tried and genuinely enjoyed using.

For this first edition, I’m sharing a few work-from-home essentials I bought and use every day. If you’re setting up your space, looking for replacements, or just want a small upgrade, these might be worth checking out.

1. Laptop Stand

Laptop StandI actually tried another laptop stand before this one, but I wasn’t happy with it because it was a bit too tall for my height. This one is just right. It’s not adjustable and doesn’t fold flat, but it holds my laptop at the perfect height and angle for daily work. Sometimes, simple is better.

2. Rapoo M160 Silent Wireless Bluetooth Mouse

Rapoo M160 Silent Wireless Bluetooth MouseAfter my Apple mouse broke, I didn’t feel like spending on another one, so I gave this budget-friendly wireless mouse a try. It surprised me! It’s light, smooth, quiet, and honestly more comfortable than I expected. I actually like it better than my Apple mouse, and it costs just a fraction of the price.

3. BOYA BY-V1/V2 Wireless Microphone

BOYA BY-V1_V2 Wireless MicrophoneI got this clip-on wireless mic mainly for recording clear audio when I’m recording on my phone. I also bought it with my nephew in mind, so he could use it for his school projects. For the price, it’s honestly a solid little find!

4. Two-Tone Desk Mouse Pad

Two-Tone Desk Mouse PadThis was a small upgrade that made a big difference. A wide mouse pad covers both my keyboard and mouse area, keeps my desk looking tidy, and feels great to work on. Plus, it protects the surface underneath. Highly recommend!

Bonus: AULA 61 Keys Mechanical Keyboard (That Went to My Nephew)

AULA 61 Keys Mechanical KeyboardI got curious and bought a mechanical keyboard, mostly because I liked the sound and the look. In the end, I didn’t use it for work, so I gave it to my nephew. Turns out, it was perfect for gaming, and he loves it.

That’s it for this month’s picks! Nothing fancy, just a few honest finds that made freelance life more comfortable and functional.

If you end up trying any of these, let me know! And if you have your own favorite desk essentials, I’d love to hear about them. I’m always on the lookout for helpful, tita-approved tools.
